Guest Designer for The Alley Way Stamps

Hi everyone,

Coming back from a long hiatus , I m back with writing this post . I was lucky to get selected to be a guest designer for The Alley way stamps for the month of May. I will be sharing projects made with some of the new stamps.

I was lucky to get to play with the beautiful stamp set called phraseology. How many of us try to find the right sentiment or words to fill in a handmade card? This stamp set is quite versatile as it can be used for variety of cards. Its like a word puzzle which you can choose and make your own sentiment.

You can find the stamp here :

For the first card :

The phraseology was stamped with versamark ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder in a small rectangular black cardstock and foam mounted onto a red cardstock with stars stencil embossing paste background. Brads were fixed to give a mounted feel. White gel pen was used to circle the selected words. This makes for a birthday card.

For my second card, I used the stamp set along with a journaling die cut . I made small journaling cards and blended distress inks squeezed lemonade, mustard seed, spiced marmalade barn door and  pickled raspberry for top panel. For the base journal card, I blended distress inks tumbled glass, broken china, faded jeans and peacock feathers. I splattered some water and misted these cards to give a water color effect. Rounded off the words with a micron pen and foam mounted them onto black cardbase.

For the third card , I kept the design really simple since the phrases speak for themselves. Card base was embossed with cuttlebug tiny hearts embossing folder, Black and white cardstock were cut and shaped and a red twine was attached with a bow. The stamp set was stamped with versafine black ink and the sentiments were rounded with a red gel pen to give a romantic color feel to the card. Stickles added to selected hearts on embossed paper. This makes it a romantic masculine card.

What I really love about the phraseology set is that you can make birthday cards, romantic cards, baby cards , get well soon card, thanks and various sentiments in just one set.

Love of lace and doilies

I m back to share another card for Whimsiedoodles (  . With valentine’s day around the corner, I drew inspiration from a doily in my dining table. Isn’t there something about love of lace and doilies when women relate to romance or weddings? I used the love Abby image from whimsiedoodles . I really aimed at getting a subtle look for my card this time from my routine bright colors.

No sentiment was added as I wanted this to be a birthday card for a relative (which happens to fall on february 14). Perfect wouldn’t it be to receive a card with lots of hearts on it?

For a change I flipped the image before printing onto cardstock and then colored her with copics.

Hearty for you

It’s the third card I’m making this month for Whimsiedoodles. I adore the january release of Whimsiedoodles which has the cutest images. This girl reminds me of a soft girl , so I tried to capture that clean line , pastel with a pop of color . I really love coloring this image (or any other whimsiedoodles images ) with copics . For this card, I die cut and colored the embossed die with distress ink spun sugar and added pink twine with a bow and mounted the panel with foam dots . To finish off I added tiny enamel hearts which seemed to fit the theme and colors well.

I took the flu vaccine and still end up getting it every year (like a repeating gift). I wish there was a quick remedy for flu. Today’s card would seem perfect if someone was sick only with a Get well soon sentiment. Happy Halloween

Hi everyone, I’m not familiar with Halloween traditions as I’m from India. But it seems so much fun. Love the whole costume stuff, the trick or treats and the haunting effect by decorating the home. Last week I saw a witch sitting in a chair on the patio of a old home and I was scared for a moment. It took me a moment to realize its just decoration. I was fooled and I was laughing at myself. I wanted to do a witch card but couldn’t get the time.

For this post, its about vampire  — oooohhh ! The blood, the fangs, the red and black and the damask effect of the old European age! That’s what came to my mind. Here it is –
