Ramadan Mubarak!

For all those celebrating Ramadan, Eid Mubarak!

I m making this post simple. I fell head over heels in love with the new Altenew stamps. They are so beautiful and alluring. My first purchase from Altenew was the Eid Mubarak set because I wanted to create a card which had the arabic version of Eid Mubarak.

I wanted only the arabic image in the front panel and I tried to merge the colors black and gold (hoping to replicate mecca colors) . Gold and black is always a pretty combo, isn’t it?

The starry backdrop was made by overlapping the stamping of stars stamp (from lawn fawn), as I do not have a falling stars stamp. How I wish I had it to create the falling stars image!

The black panel was created by stamping lawn fawn stamp (stars) with versamark and gold embossing and tied with a golden satin ribbon.

The die cut was embossed with a embossing tool (edges have a bit of elevation) after coloring with antique linen distress ink. The Altenew stamp set was used with versamark ink and ranger gold embossing powder to create the arabic sentiment! I m so in love with the ranger gold embossing powder.

The sentiment inside read – May the Guidance of Allah Be with you and your family with happy Eid from the same stamp set.

Paper: Bazzill marshmallow cardstock (white), black cardstock, neenah solar white cardstock for die cut

Stamps: Altenew Eid Greetings , Lawn fawn Teeny Tiny backdrops (stars stamp)

Ink: Versamark ink for the heat embossing, memento ink for sentiment inside. antique linen distress ink

Die: Nestabilities Label 4

Misc: Ranger gold embossing powder , gold satin ribbon, Heat tool, ATG

Enjoy the Ramadan Feast!

Blue skies, bright colors and pretty flowers! Its summertime!

Another flower card with the summer theme! Yes, a combination of blue skies and flowers made me come up with the beautiful hydrangea from the lawn fawn stamp set! i love this set so much. Its so versatile to make different cards.

Hydrangeas represent anything that is sincerely heartfelt because it possesses enduring grace and beauty. So I made a blank card which can be used for any occasion! Did you know that the hydrageas get their name from the fact they need lots of water?

IMG_8017This is a A2 size horizontal card ( 4.25 X5.5″). The blue panel is 4″X5.25″ . Distress ink faded jeans has been used to completely turn the white cardstock to blue . Stamped with penny black background.

Supplies used:

Paper: Neenah solar white cardstock

Stamp: Lawn fawn flutterby (flowers and leaf) , penny black letter background (stamped in faded jeans distress ink )

Dies: Nestabilities label 4 (for the die cut – colored with distress ink)

Ink: Memento tuxedo black, distress ink faded jeans, distress ink spiced marmalade, copics B24, B26 for the flower, copics YG17, YG23

Misc: Orange and white twine, glossy accents for the flower

Fun fact: Hydrangeas are also called bigleaf! They definitely look like that , aren’t they?

Signing off,

Life happens when we least expect it!

Or should I say – Life happens when we expect it . I believe its both. The title above is perfect for any moment or in this case an occasion I guess!

After a long hiatus in my blog, here I am writing this post!

I got a call recently from a friend and heard that she s expecting! Now you know where I am heading. This post is about a card for an expectant mother. As she is in her early weeks of pregnancy, I couldnt decide what color card I was about to make. But then teal was one of my favorite colors and this is what I created.

I wish I had some sequins to add a little oomph to it . This is a 5 x 7 inch card.

I usually leave the inside of the card blank. It always made me feel incomplete imagining how the person would feel opening a card that’s pretty on outside and blank on inside. I designed the sentiment “Heard you are expecting” using a very beautiful font and die cut and stuck it on the interior. The inside came out pretty good too!

Supplies used:

Paper: Bazzill robin blue cardstock for cardbase, teal patterned paper from michaels , Neenah solar white cardstock for the die cut , black cardstock

Stamps :  Whimsie doodles expecting image , Hero arts sentiment

Ink: Copics BG11, BG13( for teal), Y15, Y17 (for yellow), E21 (for skin and cake ), RV13 for blush, 100 and C6 for hair, R29 for cherry on cupcake , Versamark ink for embossed sentiment, Distress ink peacock feathers for the die cut

Misc: Teal ribbon, Spellbinders nestabilities floral ovals , silver embossing powder , stickles yellow and crystal stickles, foam dots (to add dimension to die cut and double dimension for the expecting mom image)

I m entering this card in june 2014 whimsiedoodles blog challenge – celebration theme!

Here’s a close up of the outside and inside:

The coloring is quite visible in this picture.

I can’t just resist using stickles ! Do you spot a bit of sparkle on the cupcake liner, the shoes and the frills of the dress?

Time to post it !

See ya,
