Celebrate !

Just in time for Mother’s day!

This post is about a card I made for last year’s Mother’s day .

Till date, this has been my favorite and best creation!

The color combination is just lovely after it was completed. I have to say, it takes quite some time to make this as I didnt have some tools.

What better to wish Mother’s day with butterfly and peacock colors?

Supplies used:

Stamps : Lawn fawn flutter by (for butterfly) , penny black paisley background, hero arts magical background , Celebrate sentiment from tpc studio

Ink: Distress ink peacock feathers, distress ink black soot, Copic BG13, BG11, Memento tuxedo black ink (for butterly), Versamark inkpad , white gel pen

Paper : Neenah white cardstock

dies: Spellbinders circles, spellbinders labels 18

Misc: Stickles , glossy accents , foam dots, glue dot

Here’s how I made it:

1 )Cut neenah solar white cardstock into A2 size card (11″ X 8.5 “) – folded in half at 5.5″ and at 4.25

2) Cut neenah solar white cardstock 5″ X 4” – from that piece, die cut the piece (black piece) from spellbinders labels 18  and again cut a center circle using spellbinders circles . This forms the black piece in the card. With an ink blending tool and black soot distress ink, color the entire die cut piece and then stamp hero arts magical background stamp over it with the same ink .White emboss “celebrate” sentiment using versamark ink pad and white embossing powder and heat gun. place dots all around the inner and outer edges with a white gel pen. Attach dimensionals or foam dots underneath it .

3)In neenah solar white cardstock piece, using memento tuxedo black ink, stamp the lawn fawn flutter by butterfly stamp and fuzzy cut (with hand) ; color with copics ; add glossy accent to the inner part and stickles and let it dry

4) For card base , cut neenah solar white cardstock 5.5″ X 4.25″ . Color with peacock feathers using ink blending tool and then stamp with paisley penny black stamp with the same ink pad . keep aside.

5) Die cut another bigger piece of white cardstock with a spellbinders circle (larger than the previous die cut )

To assemble :

First attach the card base (number 4 ) to the card (number 1) using atg .

Place the cut circle (number 5) on the card in center.

Place and attach the black panel (number 2) onto the card .

With a glue dot attach the butterfly and slightly fold the wings to give the flutter look !

This card is perfect for mother’s day, summer, spring occasions or even birthdays !

Hope this card and its colors will stay vivid all through the day in your thoughts ! 🙂
